Our 2G Babel Can system is a universal CAN bus to CAN bus gateway. It is used to interface two CAN buses together which may be running at different speeds that need data scaling, or address translation, including translation between 29 and 11 bit identifiers. The gateway can also translates message ID’s, scales data, and can introduce adds offsets.The Babel Can system was originally designed for use in an automotive environment for competition vehicles data acquisition system. Enabling any modern vehicles on board CAN system to interface with a standard J1939 data logging system.

The Babel Can unit is of a modular design, with the I/O card being a simple daugter card to our Nucleus CPU card. This allows for quick customization of the units for a specific task. The Babel can units also has 12bit ADC’s for sampling signals and placing them onto a CAN bus, and digital inputs/outputs for external controls and triggers.
